Is Anima safe?

Anima is as safe as its current legal pages. It publishes a privacy policy and an underage policy. This page does not assign a score. It tells you what was visible on 2026-08-19 and what was not.

What the official pages show

The homepage markets an AI friend with chat and calls on web and mobile. The legal section also includes cancellation, content-removal, cookie, and complaint pages.

That is more legal surface than many companion sites. It is not the same thing as a public memory method, a named AI provider, or an independent audit.

What we could not verify

• How chats are retained after you delete an account
• Whether conversations train models
• Who the model provider is
• How age rules are checked at signup
• Current store ratings in every region

If those answers matter, ask Anima support or wait until the policy names them.

Age rules

Anima publishes an underage policy. That is the document that governs age, not this summary. We did not independently verify how age is checked at signup, or what happens if someone lies. Read the current page before you assume a gate exists.

What to check before you subscribe

1. Open the privacy policy and the underage policy on the same day. Save copies. Legal pages move.
2. Look for collection, retention, deletion, export, training, and providers. If a line is missing, treat it as unknown, not as “fine.”
3. Check the current store listing in your region. Homepage “mobile” is not the same as an App Store rating.
4. Run one memory test: share a fact, correct it, ask later. Safety includes whether the product keeps what you did not mean to keep.
